FIFTH INTERFACE INTRODUCED: INTEGRATED DIRECT DRIVES WITH ETHERNET/IP
PSD direct drives are used in packaging machines, filling lines and woodworking machines worldwide. All the relevant subsystems for automatic format changeovers are already integrated into these intelligent drives, which are already available with the CANopen, IO-Link, PROFINET and EtherCAT control interfaces.
Now, a fifth bus communication system has been added to this list: EtherNet/IP.
Halstrup-walcher is a manufacturer of drive technologies and continues to develop its product families of modular drives, which are already well-established in the 3-series positioning systems. Switching between the different bus interfaces is simple and flexible for the direct drive product range PSD. In addition, further variants and options are available for the company’s direct drives:
- Various performance specifications from 1 to 8 Nm nominal torque (sometimes with gear reducer) at maximum speeds up to 1000 rpm
- IP protection class with IP50 or IP65
- Various connection designs and orientations that make bevel gears obsolete
- Optional 8 or 14 mm hollow shaft that replaces a coupling
Due to their faster nominal speeds, direct drives are an ideal solution for frequent format changeovers in machines. halstrup-walcher will exhibit its PSD product range at SPS in Nuremberg at Stand 220 in Hall 4.
