Galoppin Papier expands folding carton production

Galoppin Papier, a Belgian packaging manufacturer specializing in food packaging, has expanded its folding carton production capabilities with the installation of a BOBST VISIONCUT 106 LER Autoplaten® die-cutter at its Boortmeerbeek production facility.

Founded in 1937 and now managed by the fourth generation of the founding family, the company operates with approximately 50 employees, an in-house prepress department and a production park of around 30 machines. In recent years, Galoppin Papier has increased its focus on folding carton production for the food packaging sector.

Replacing aging die-cutting equipment
The investment followed operational challenges linked to an existing die-cutting machine from another supplier that had reached the end of its operational life cycle.

According to the company, the aging equipment was increasingly disrupting production efficiency and creating pressure on manufacturing operations. Galoppin Papier therefore sought a replacement capable of improving reliability while also supporting higher production quality and operational efficiency.

The company already operates a BOBST SP 1080 flatbed die-cutter that has remained in operation for approximately 60 years. This existing installation served as a performance benchmark during the evaluation of new equipment.

Focus on reliability and operational efficiency
As part of the selection process, representatives from Galoppin Papier visited the BOBST Competence Centre to evaluate the VISIONCUT 106 LER.

The company identified simplified job changeovers as one of the machine’s main operational advantages, particularly in an environment where recruiting and training skilled operators remains a challenge for packaging manufacturers.

The VISIONCUT 106 LER was selected to support both production continuity and increased flexibility across folding carton jobs for food packaging applications.

Supporting long-term folding carton growth
According to Galoppin Papier, the investment forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen its position in folding carton packaging and improve production stability at the Boortmeerbeek facility.

The company expects the new die-cutting system to reduce operational disruptions while supporting efficient processing across a growing range of folding carton applications.
