A modular concept enables manufacturers to react fast to changing market requirements and customer needs. At the same time, the PMX fulfills modern requirements with respect to sustainability and digitalization. It processes recyclable mono-materials and reduces energy and material usage through condition monitoring.

As part of an EIT-funded project, Syntegon has developed paper-based trays and cups for sensitive food products. Together with partners from industry and research, namely Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging in Dresden, Colruyt Group, Strauss Group and the University of Reading, Syntegon is implementing the EIT project “PACK4SENSE” (Paper packaging for SENSitive foods) to develop a sustainable packaging concept. EIT Food, the world’s largest and most dynamic innovation community, is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

Syntegon showcases its sustainable packaging technologies at booth 1-204 at this year’s Fachpack from September 28 to 30, 2021. From retrofits to new lines, from primary to secondary packaging – Syntegon's solutions cater to all needs and facilitate the shift to sustainable materials such as paper, mono-materials or corrugated board made of grass fibers. Visitors to Fachpack can experience the efficiency of a comprehensive solution for paper packaging and the glue-free technology of the Kliklok ACE carton erector.

Syntegon has added a new member to its highly successful AIM 5 inspection range: the fully integrated syringe inspection line not only features a de-nester and a re-nester, but also comes with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) function by default. “When drugs are administered intravenously, any contamination or particle in the product is unacceptable”, says Dr José Zanardi, responsible for vision inspection development and applications at Syntegon. “Our innovative and fully integrated inspection line handles syringes with utmost care and uses AI to further increase inspection accuracy.”
