Narrow impingement freezer for space-constrained lines

With the ADVANTEC™ Narrow Impingement Freezer, JBT Frigoscandia introduces a compact version of its full impingement freezing system. The new model is engineered for facilities with limited floor space and enables integration of impingement technology into production lines previously configured for cryogenic freezers or narrower equipment.

Transition from cryogenic to mechanical high-speed freezing
In light of rising global cryogenic gas costs, the system offers an alternative for processors of fish, seafood, and meat. The reduced width—approximately 1.2 meters narrower than the standard version—facilitates retrofitting in existing plants while maintaining the freezing performance of the original ADVANTEC system.

The freezer supports high-speed freezing of flat products up to 25 mm thick, as well as cooling and crust freezing of products up to 200 mm thick. It is therefore suited for applications where rapid heat transfer and high process efficiency are critical.

Impingement technology for product quality and yield
The integrated air-jet technology accelerates heat transfer through targeted high-velocity air streams directed at the product surface, reducing freezing times to just a few minutes. This approach minimizes drip loss and the formation of large ice crystals, helping preserve texture, flavor, and overall product quality.

By reducing moisture loss, the system increases yield while extending product shelf life. It is designed for quality-sensitive applications in food processing.




Compact design with improved accessibility
In addition to its reduced footprint, the ADVANTEC Narrow features sliding doors that provide easier access for defrosting and cleaning. The optimized layout can also support internal transport during operation.

With its narrow configuration, JBT Frigoscandia combines the performance characteristics of established impingement technology with a space-efficient design, enabling high-performance freezing in production environments with limited available space.
