Packaging Technologies for Confectionery and Snack Production

At ProSweets Cologne 2026 in Cologne, ULMA Packaging will present packaging technologies designed to ensure product protection, process stability and reduced material consumption in industrial confectionery and snack production.

Relevance for confectionery, snack and bakery manufacturers
From 1 to 4 February 2026, the international supplier industry for the confectionery and snack sector will gather at ProSweets Cologne. ULMA Packaging will exhibit in Hall 10.1, Stand G-009 / F-008, showcasing machine solutions developed to meet typical industry requirements such as high cycle rates, consistent seal quality, hygienic design and the processing of recyclable packaging materials. The exhibition focuses on applications in confectionery, snack and bakery production where efficiency, product safety and resource efficiency must be balanced.

Packaging Technologies for Confectionery and Snack Production

Vertical packaging for flexible product formats
One of the solutions on display is a vertical packaging machine designed for snacks, sweets, nuts and small bakery products. It is configured to produce doypack-style stand-up pouches with zippers and can process mono-material films suitable for recycling streams. An integrated cutting technology reduces film usage per package, measurably lowering material consumption without compromising pack stability. The system addresses packaging concepts that combine sustainable materials with industrial performance.

Flow-wrap solution for MAP applications
In addition, ULMA Packaging will present a new flow-wrap machine for MAP packaging for the first time at ProSweets Cologne 2026. Its long-dwell sealing head enables airtight seals at speeds of up to 150 cycles per minute, which is particularly relevant for sensitive confectionery products, baked goods and protein-rich snacks. The IP66 hygienic design with a stainless-steel housing supports cleaning processes in demanding production environments. At the same time, the machine is engineered for low material and energy consumption, making it suitable for continuous high-performance food packaging operations.

Technological context
With the systems presented at the trade fair, ULMA Packaging addresses key industry developments: the shift toward recyclable packaging materials, the growing importance of MAP packaging for shelf life and product protection, and the demand for stable, energy-efficient machine concepts. The solutions are designed for standardized industrial processes and can be integrated into existing production lines in the confectionery, snack and bakery industries.
