Making a splash at Seafood Expo Global 2025

From May 6 - 8 2025, Barcelona hosted the largest, most diverse seafood trade event in the annual calendar. Over three days 35,000 visitors from across the seafood industry filled Fira Barcelona, ready to keep the industry moving towards a strong future. At booth 3DD401, JBT Marel presented our newly united team and introduced visitors to the latest innovations in seafood processing.
A booth-full of opportunities
Visitors lined up to experience our new immersive room. A virtual walkthrough that showcased full-line integrated solutions across primary and secondary salmon processing. When they were ready to explore the latest, innovative equipment ready to turn industry challenges into opportunities, the booth had plenty on display including:

Live launch and first sale
The launch of the EVi gutting machine stood out as a highpoint of the event. This milestone for JBT Marel Fish was celebrated with a contract signing for the first sale to salmon processor Bakkafrost. Attendees showed a lot of interest in our entry into the gutting arena with the EVi’s ground-breaking automation.
Top of mind topics
As part of the official 2025 Conference Program, Bjarni Bergsson, Software Sales Director, JBT Marel, presented Digital Tides: Navigating regulations and reaping benefits in seafood. The talk was well received with traceability such a pressing demand in the industry, particularly with more stringent requirements on the horizon. The importance of automation to keep businesses competitive was another top-of-mind topic, with JBT Marel experts excited to demonstrate exactly how our innovative equipment is ready to provide our customerswith all the advantages automation has to offer.
