Stora Enso has introduced Performa Lumi, a GC1 folding boxboard designed to balance premium visual performance with efficient material use. The board is produced on the company’s new BM6 packaging line in Oulu, Finland, and expands the Performa range alongside Performa Nova.
Performa Lumi is a CTMP-based board coated on both sides, with a light-coated reverse. This construction delivers high whiteness, smooth surface properties, and consistent printability, supporting strong shelf presence while maintaining predictable performance in conversion and use.
The board is manufactured using FiberLight Tec™, Stora Enso’s proprietary lightweighting technology. The approach enables high stiffness and strength at lower basis weights, allowing brand owners to optimise material efficiency without compromising functional requirements.

Performa Lumi is designed to withstand external stresses during printing and converting operations, making it suitable for demanding packaging applications. It complies with industry standards for odour and taste and is approved for direct food contact.
Available in grammages from 205 to 310 gsm, the board offers consistent stiffness and yield across the range, supporting multiple packaging formats. With this launch, Stora Enso extends its carton board portfolio and reinforces its focus on renewable materials and circular packaging solutions.
