As part of an EIT-funded project, Syntegon has developed paper-based trays and cups for sensitive food products. Together with partners from industry and research, namely Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging in Dresden, Colruyt Group, Strauss Group and the University of Reading, Syntegon is implementing the EIT project “PACK4SENSE” (Paper packaging for SENSitive foods) to develop a sustainable packaging concept. French insect producer Agronutris has chosen Bühler Group as its process solution provider for its first commercial scale black soldier fly plant. Bühler will deliver a full-scope solution for the facility, which will be built in Rethel, France.
GEA and Israeli food tech start-up Better Juice have won their first commercial project to reduce the sugar in fruit drinks. A major US beverage manufacturer is to incorporate the groundbreaking innovation into its production process in early 2022. The customer expects to be supplying fruit juices with at least 30 percent less sugar to supermarkets as early as spring.
